buffets, sideboards and freestanding dining-room storage pieces;
bar carts, display cabinets and similar furniture intended for home assembly.

Please include every item you want considered, rather than describing a set only as “dining furniture.” A product link, model name, photographs of the cartons or the instruction booklet can clarify the size, quantity and type of assembly involved.

Tables, Chairs and Benches

Dining tables can involve legs, aprons, support rails, leaves and hardware that must be installed in the sequence specified by the manufacturer. A set of chairs may have repeated parts and individual fasteners, while benches and storage pieces can include panels, drawers, doors or adjustable feet.

For that reason, it helps to count the separate pieces when you send an enquiry. A table with six chairs, for example, is a different request from a single table or a sideboard. The aim is to assemble the customer-supplied ready-to-assemble furniture as designed; it does not include modifying the furniture to fit the room or correcting a manufacturing issue.

Before the Appointment

Make the assembly area practical before work begins. Clear a section of floor large enough for the cartons, components and finished furniture, especially if the table will be used in a compact dining nook or apartment space. If possible, keep the final location available so the assembled item can be positioned there without working around other furniture.

Have these items ready:

all delivered cartons and unopened hardware packs;
the manufacturer’s assembly instructions, manual or product link;
the product name, model number and number of pieces to be assembled;
relevant access details, such as stairs, narrow hallways or a gated entry;
notice of any visibly damaged carton, missing part or unclear instruction.
